Hydrotherapy
Hydrotherapy is a treatment carried out in a dedicated pool that we have on-site in Beit Noam. The therapy uses the water’s properties to its advantage as a means of coping with physical and emotional difficulties.
The warmth of the water, buoyancy and the feel of the water on the body enables the participants to do things they cannot do outside the water, such as standing and walking.
The treatment helps to relax muscles, reduce pain and increase the range of motions and the ability to maintain balance. Water resistance also helps build up muscles and strengthen the respiratory system.
The hydrotherapy pool at the center is the only one of its kind in the area. It was designed in accordance with universal design principles in mind.
Visitors can enter the pool via a sloping ramp specially designed to allow entry into the water even to those with the most severe disabilities, using a specially adapted wheelchair.
In addition, the showers and changing rooms next to the pool have been adapted to the needs of individuals with severe disabilities and equipped with dedicated wheelchairs, ceiling cranes, and electric beds for changing.
The pool serves Beit Noam participants until the early afternoon.
In the afternoon, the pool is open to people from the community, so that they too can enjoy its benefits, including people with special needs, the elderly and others who need hydrotherapy for various reasons.
